Who exactly is running this place?
Why, that would be me! My name is Megan M. (that is, Megan Elizabeth Morris), and I keep a deliciously divergent think tank blog on Ideaschema.org, if you want to get a feel for the kinda gal I am. Ideaschema (and before it, That Idea Blueprint Girl) has been my way of coalescing the work I’ve been doing since 1999 into one highly useful, easily marketable pastime that I can enjoy the hell out of — and use to help lots and lots of people.
If you want to know a little more about me and the kind of crazy shit I engage in, you can read on here.
What Should I Expect?
Follow-Up: When you order any solutions from Ideaschema, you’ll get an email from me within 48 hours or so asking for your parameters. (You can get us rolling faster, if you want, by emailing them to me right away.) Keep in mind that if I don’t hear from you within a reasonable amount of time, I’ll probably refund your money to avoid confusion. If you don’t hear from me, something may have gone a-wry — so email again if you’re uncertain!
Gathering Information! In your first email, give me some information about what you’re looking to accomplish. This is the best way for me to choose a course of action for us and figure out the best solution for you. I might ask you questions if I need more information or clarification, but if my schedule isn’t already full, chances are I’ll launch in and start problem-solving right away. I like getting right to work. ;}
Scheduling: Sometimes my schedule is packed. If this is the case, I’ll let you know about when you should hear back from me — especially if I need some creative time in order to come up with ideas for you. It can often take a few days or even a week for things to gel, depending on what you need. If my schedule affects our timeline, you can be sure I’ll let you know!
What Exactly Will I Get?
This varies widely on a case-by-case basis, simply because everyone’s needs are different. If we’re consulting by email, you’ll have a nice long text conversation to refer back to. If we consult by phone and you have the ability to record the call, by all means do — it will make implementing our decisions a lot easier once we’re done!
What About Refunds?
I don’t really do refunds, especially if I feel that I’ve offered valuable feedback and resources. I do sometimes refund payments under certain circumstances and at discretion, if I feel I can’t help you out — idea generation and creativity in general is a funny business and it’s important to me that you get something you can work with out of our interaction. If you find yourself unhappy, that’s not cool — and we should talk about it to see if we can find a solution! If that’s your situation, totally email me. We’re on the same side (I promise) and if there’s anything at all I can do, I will surely do it. I generally like you people. :}
Wait… Free Ideas?
Do you ever have a problem generating enough ideas for a project?
Yep — it happens! If it happens with your project, however, you can bet I’ll give you back your money (along with any ideas I did happen to come up with along the way).
Kyeli, who is very smart, asks:
“If you give ideas away for free, and I pay you Good Hard-Earned Money ™ for idea generation, will you give MY ideas away for free?”
My humble response: NOPE. Although I subscribe more value to the generative process and the planning than the ideas themselves, it’s not my place to go sharing your ideas without your consent. You’re hiring a brain and you deserve a little discretion, don’t you think? What do you take me for?
Really, it’s your job to share your ideas, not mine. (And it doesn’t hurt you to share them, by the way — it just raises the bar for everyone else.)
