StrengthsFinder 2.0

by Megan M. on May 27, 2011

I was going to call this “Megan gushes about an exciting book for 17 minutes (and takes a phonecall).” But then I decided… not to.

My top 5 strength themes (courtesy of the StrengthsFinder 2.0 test)…

  • Positivity
  • Futuristic
  • Input
  • Ideation
  • Activator

My secondary themes (from my own browsing)…

  • Intellection
  • Empathy
  • Significance
  • Communication
  • Responsibility
  • Relator

If you pick up a copy and take the test, make sure to leave your results in a comment here, or email me. Because it’s exciting! And because I’m nosy. ;}

PS. In case I didn’t mention it in the video, Charlie’s the one who suggested this to me originally. I can’t wait to get a closer look at his bookshelf!

Appreciate your authenticity and video skills :)

Taken this test twice about 10 months apart – same results.

strategic, ideation, futuristic, individualization – same
#5 changed between the tests – relator, communication

Now curious to hear about common strengths of your readership – could be cool to know for all of us.

I took it a few years ago:

    Strategic

    Input

    Competition

    Activator

    Maximizer

Ha – That sounds a LOT like you, dude. And I’m just basing that on email conversations! ^_^

Do you think it’s changed much over the last few years?

I am particularly curious as to whether my results will change over time. I think this was addressed somewhere in the reading I did — something that said people’s results tended not to change much, if they changed at all. Some of my secondary strengths are definitely high on my list, but they don’t quite eclipse the ones StrengthsFinder listed for me.

Did you go from Relator to Communication, 10 months later? Perhaps your communication skills leveled up, or the difference between the two rankings is very small for you?

At the time (my heavy-duty corporate warrior days) It was definitely accurate. I think they would still be very close, might be a fun exercise to take it again and see what has changed.
